Day 4 – Katy Trail 2024

DAY 4 - N. JEFFERSON TO HERMANN - 44.6 miles

Another long day, but I was feeling fairly confident that I could make it, having done more the day before. I did it! Rode all the miles that day as well. Spent the night in the historical Crown Hotel, ate hot wings and ice cream, and watched OU beat Texas to win the WCWS! It was a good day.

Beauty and peace and quiet. The bluffs coming out of Jefferson City are awesome. Even though there were 175 other riders in this group I nearly always rode alone. We would pass each other and say hi but it was basically a solitary experience. Exactly like I like to ride.

Solitary, except at water stops, when everybody kinda checked in with each other. Like this little guy. He is 8 months old and was having a big adventure. Very well behaved young man.

I lightened my load for the longer days on advice of the SAG wagon lady. Very good advice. Thank you, Terry.
